Welcome to earthflower therapies

Earthflower Therapies is the complementary therapy practice of Emma Charlton. I offer aromatherapy with deep, releasing massage and other complementary therapy treatments from my clinic in Twickenham, South West London.

We know from Egyptian hieroglyphics, ancient Chinese texts and the Bible that plants and aromatic medicines have been used across the world for over 2000 years. I passionately believe that plant medicine has a justified and much needed place in modern life, alongside allopathic medicine and other complementary therapies. We also know that massage was an important part of life in many ancient cultures; the Ancient Chinese, Egyptians, Greeks and Indians all used massage. High quality, therapeutic massage is just as relevant today as it was all those years ago.

Make Time for Thyme

Common thyme, a favourite herb of gardeners and pizza lovers, has been found by researchers at Leeds Metropolitan University to be useful in treating acne. Using thyme for purposes other than food seasoning isn’t new - it was an embalming ingredient used by the Ancient Egyptians and the Ancient Greeks are believed to have burnt it to help prevent disease. We now know that common thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is an excellent antibacterial and may be useful in fighting various infections. In aromatherapy we also use thyme to help dispel melancholy and boost drive and energy.
