Aromatherapy is the application of aromatic essential oils. These naturally occurring plant oils have distinct therapeutic properties which can aid both psychological and physiological conditions. Holistic aromatherapy aims to boost physical and emotional well-being by helping promote our body’s natural ability to heal, balance and maintain itself. Essential oils are key to my own health and wellbeing; over the years I have experienced many positive affects from using essential oils on myself to treat various physical aches and pains, emotional upheavals and illnesses

The positive effects of aromatherapy are numerous and wide-ranging and may include potential relief from muscular aches and pains, sleep problems, headaches, anxiety, low mood, menstrual pain and more.

Massage is one of the most popular and enjoyable ways of applying essential oils (although there are lots of other lovely ways of using essential oils - see my Aromatic Potions page). An aromatherapy massage is an ideal opportunity to relax and de-stress, something so often missing from our busy lives. Together with the client I choose blends of oils at the beginning of each treatment to suit everyone’s personal needs and desires – no two treatments are the same. Contrary to popular belief there is no set style of ‘aromatherapy massage’; any massage style or techniques may be used in an aromatherapy massage. Visit the massage page to find out about my own massage style.

I am registered as an aromatherapist with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
